whine-o

march 17, 2011

currently at the gt libs at 6:32 AM, studying for my EMOP (electrical, magnetic, and optical properties for you non-techies, and yes, we have a whole course on these properties of materials) and history tests which is going down in T minus 5.49 hours. started off the night complaining about electrons and the stupid Schrödinger equations that i had to memorize. i seriously was staring at a page of scribbles in utter confusion and depression because i knew i was going to fail my test. but my friend, roscoe (he's cool because he's in a "band" and roscoe is not really his real name. i just like to call him that.) explained all this gibberish to me. and i am now wide awake because i am starting to understand everything. science, physics, and electrons are so interesting. lately, i've been complaining about my course load and about having to learn all these nonsensical properties of electrons. probability density, Hamiltonian operators, infinite potential barriers, thermionic and field emission, electron hole charge carriers, doped n-type and p-type semiconductors, conduction and valence bands, Fermi energy levels, blah, blah, blah, etc. but i think i am beginning to appreciate all of this more and more. when i understand what i'm learning, i get really really excited. not only because i might actually get a decent grade on my test, but because i really truly am intrigued and amazed by the science and math of it all, and i actually really love my major. sigh, i am so bipolar. mse and i have this love/hate relationship. i hate this stuff ... no, i actually really like it ... oh but these derivations! ugh ... nahhhhh, it's alright. anyway, i was getting really frustrated this week with my mse classes. so much that i was considering changing my major, even transferring, or just dropping out of school. i don't want to do derivations the rest of my life!!! but ... i love my major. for now :)

test scores are out! I ACED BOTH OF THEM. which is pretty freaking incredible considering i totally bombed the last EMOP test and barely passed my history test. eek! happy happy joy joy :-) roscoe and i shall study together again for the next test! and we will eat junior's breakfast platters just like last time, hehe.

how to have a social life at tech

1) Eat lunch at Student Center every day.
2) Go to CRC at 10:00 PM until midnight.
3) Proceed to library and stay until 4:00 AM.
4) Repeat until graduation (which will be in ≥4 years).

sun was high - best coast

i loveeeeeeee best coast. they kinda got this oldies, beach boys-kinda feel to them. listening to best coast on sunny days make me oh-so-happy :) tryna be more optimistic lately but it's hard to stay focused when we only have a month of school left! which is super crazy. freshman year of college definitely flew by. i remember moving onto campus and being so excited. seems only like yesterday. it's crazy. here i am in my dorm home counting down the days til summer. i'm gonna miss fitten hall even though my floor is pretty loud at night and i'm acquainted with less than half of the girls on my floor. freshman year might not have been the best but i'm probably going to look back on my old blog posts when i'm a senior and miss all this.

icream and long talks with briiiham
chipotle runs with da woodyz boyz, haha

today, i was supposed to work on my chem postlab at the library but it was so cold inside because they turned up the A.C. due to sudden hot weather lately (which i love, btw). so i sat outside on the benches in front of library to warm up. i ended up staying out there for a hour and a half. i just enjoyed the weather, listened to music, and people-watched for a good bit. i love dropping everything and doing nothing, not in a lazy sense but stopping and enjoying life for a moment. i watched girls, boys, couples walk by, people stopping to catch up, boys catching a smoke break before they go back in to study more. i had a good moment of self-reflection, soul-searching, and journal-ing. i paid for it with a shorts farmer's tan, but it was all worth it

then i grabbed dinner at tin drum with 가은. i had a great time enjoying good food and catching up with a good friend. she had the classic pad thai and i tried something new, tiki masala, which yohan recommended to me, but i was kinda disappointed. tin drum curry, panang curry, and mango stir fry are still my top 3, haha. anyway, 가은 and i talked for a long time, laughing hysterically at dumb things, girl-talking, and watching the sunset. i love this girl, forreal :)

오늘은 좋은 하루 :)

easier said than done

"Apologizing doesn't mean you are
wrong and the other person's right.
It just means that you value your
relationship more than your ego."

I'm trying to have more self-control these days.
It's all a learning process.
Detoxification is so hard.  I want real food :(
Yesterday's weather was nice!
Here's what I wore:

Don't look at my face, haha.
top & necklaces-f21, skirt-gap, boots-charlotte russe, scarf-anne klein

Today in chemistry lab, we worked with dry ice.
I touched it for one second. It hurt >:(

OMG OMG OMG NEW WORD: Preesh = I appreciate it
I love it, hehe.

And that's my nonsensical blabber for the day.
Toodles!

 -----------------update @ 8:22 PM

"The Bible is the number one most shoplifted book of all time." from OMG Facts
I don't know how to react to this. It's bad but it's nice that so many people want to read the Bible so badly, haha.

I'm at the Student Center right now, catching up on some homework. A group of boys came and sat at the table in front of me. They are playing some kind of Dungeons and Dragons or Yu-Gi-Oh card game. Each player has about 200+ cards and each card is in a protective sleeve. They are giggling obnoxiously about dragons, magic spells, attacks, etc. This is when I know I'm truly at Tech. >_<

I snuck a picture, keke. They bet money on it. -_-
