bĂȘte noire

my hair looks more reddish brown than black in this picture. i love where my room is located in the house. right when it hits noon every day, my room is flooded with sunlight. then at dusk, i can see the sunset from my room. watching the sun set makes me think of people on the other side of the world where the sun is rising. Earth seems so big to us but in actuality, it's small compared to the universe.

today, i shall blog about my top pet peeves.
  1. my name is sharon, not shannon. i really don't like it when people call me shannon. for some reason, it bothers me a lot. i have grown to dislike that name just because people make mistakes. just call me yedam if you can't get it right please.
  2. when someone is sitting next to me really closely (like in a car), i don't like it when their leg touches mine. the feeling of contact is weird. i get chills. i don't know why i do. a pants barrier between our legs make it a bit more bearable but bare legs... I CAN'T STAND THEM.
  3. "i feel nauseous" is a very incorrect statement that bothers me. it's "i am nauseated." when you say that you are nauseous, you are claiming that you look or smell so despicable that people who look at you or smell you will throw up on sight or sniff. so unless you think you make other people want to throw up, don't say that you're nauseous.
  4. people who turn away when they see you and wait for you to say hi. uh, we just made eye contact. are you that self-important that you have the nerve to audaciously pretend that you didn't see me? i don't understand why people have this pride issue. like you're not getting any points because someone you know says hi to you first. i'm just confused.

attempted to dye my hair brown today.
except it didn't show up too well.
my stepdad says i look too jap when it's black
and "koreans no like japs beecahs dey make us slave
...but dey make good cah. thas why we drive lexus."
just kidding, my stepdad speaks perfect english.
sometimes i wish he didnt though.
just so i could laugh more every day, haha.

on a whim

one of my new year's resolutions for twenty-ten was to do anything and everything, sans the bad schtuff of course. just trying to latch onto the spirit of spontaneity and have more "don't think and do" moments in order to experience and really live life. cause life is short, nawmeen? and so i did this ...

i cut myself a fringe. how you like me now?!
oh hayyyyyyyy audrey~ wasaaahhhb :)

jina watched me do it via skype. it was quite a scream fest, haha. i'm not quite sure if i'll keep this hairstyle up after it grows out though. i've never had hair on my face before, haha. maybe it just takes some getting used to. took a lot of will to resist the urge to pin back my bangs this morning before i went out. but the many compliments i received today encouraged me. thanks yall!!!

anyway, life's been good. in a sense of where i am spiritually and on the pathway to becoming an adult, i can sincerely say that i'm headed in the right direction. even in my family's financial situation right now, i'm not worried. i should be. but i'm not. why? because i've become more accepting of God's will for my life. every day, i hand Him a piece of my life, "here God, take it." the more pieces i hand Him, the more i feel at peace with myself. i can physically feel God's tremendous love abounding within me. it's overflowing. so much that i have to share this love with others. i've become more accepting of others who i used to judge all the time. worldly pleasures, they fade. i come to appreciate the little things. the closer i get to God, the more i come to thank Him for everything in my life, the good and the bad. because without the bad, i would've never learned.

"Good judgment comes from experience,
and often experience comes from bad judgment."

thank you God for making me learn the hard way. but of course, being the o.c.d., always worried, neat freak that i am, i still have that whisper in the back of my mind. it's no longer a voice, but a whisper. but i can still hear it. i must pray pray pray. "they say what goes up must come down, but don't let me fall."

how is everyone else doing?
