rediscovering my love for reading this winter break! i want to share some of my favorite quotations from each book but it'll turn out to be an extensive and therefore boring post so i shall do it in parts. one of the first books i've read this winter break was The Perks of Being a Wallflower: this has been on my to-read list for a couple of years now, haha. i finally took the initiative to read it. here are some of my favorite quotations:
"Not everyone has a sob story, Charlie. And even if they do, it's no excuse." -Charlie's sister
"And in that moment, I swear we were infinite." -Charlie
"I am very interested and fascinated by how everyone loves each other, but no one really likes each other." -Charlie
"It's kind of like when you look at yourself in the mirror and you say your name. And it gets to the point where none of it seems real. Well, sometimes, I can do that, but I don't need an hour in front of a mirror. It happens very fast, and things start to slip away. And I just open my eyes, and I see nothing." -Charlie
"It was vast and open and thinly quiet, and I felt so small." -Charlie
"This all feels very familiar. But it's not mine to be familiar about." -Charlie
"People who try to control situations all the time are afraid that if they don't, nothing will work out the way they want." -Charlie's sister
"Because things change. And friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody." -Charlie
"So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them." -Charlie
