praying for Korea

North Korea shells South Korean island

on november 23, 2010 at approximately 2:34 PM local time, the South Korean island Yeonpyeong was attacked by North Korean forces. black and white plumes of smoke ascend from the ruins. news articles upon new articles report the damage, casualties, testimonies. and here i am in America, safe but helpless, praying that this won't progress into a wide-scale crisis. just the thought of war sends chills down my back. my family. my homeland. my people. why do i whine and complain so much about my own personal issues when there is so much evil and destruction out in the real world? what good does it do me to sit here and sympathize for myself? this situation in Korea is not just another act of terror in my mind, it is a realization, a wake-up call that everything is not about me. God, please protect the people of North and South Korea, those who are on the island, the families and loved ones of the four men who died in the fire, and especially the people who have not yet heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. we leave everything in Your hands.
