on wednesday, mingie and i went on a date to a quaint, little breakfast place on howell mill road called The Social House. it was a bit hard to find. we passed by it...twice, haha. the place is very tiny but the interior is beautiful. sunlight floods in through the many windows. furniture and decor is very vintage but super cute. i love how the menu and all of the workers' t-shirts are sea green, one of my fave colors right now. the food is delish, not too fatty or bland. it is reproducible at home though for a much cheaper price. it was kind of pricey but the experience was nice so i'm not complaining.

mingie ordered the fried green tomato crepes with a hand-tossed salad off the brunch menu. portion size was decent. i couldn't really taste it from the one bite ming shared with me. maybe it was because i didn't get any of the bechamel sauce, hmm. although i must note the texture of the crepe was very odd. it seemed more like a very thin fried egg than a flour-based crepe. overall, mingie enjoyed this dish very much :)
we shared a half stack of blueberry pancakes. i definitely recommend these pancakes if you go. they are very moist and flavorful and they come with hot syrup. i love how the blueberries in them are fresh and not the dried kinds. you can really taste the homemade-ness (not a word) of these blueberry pancakes. yum~
i ordered the eggs benedict. it was pretty good although i couldn't really taste the hollandaise. a bit too pricey for its quality however. i wasn't sure what i was supposed to do with the orange, haha. but the ham was very good and the english muffin was soft. i ordered cheese grits as my side. a bit rich but very very filling and good. i had been craving grits for a while and these satisfied me completely.
a very excited mingie :)

after running around tech all day, we cool down at Juicy Green, one of my favorite frozen dessert shops. i usually go there for their mango sorbet and cookies n' cream gelato. they are to die for. really, it's that good.
